Overview
What is HydraFacial and who is it for?
HydraFacial is a multi-step facial done with a specialised device. A spiral-tipped handpiece uses gentle suction to cleanse and lift away dead skin, then loosens debris with a mild acid solution. The same suction draws out blackheads and oil from pores, which is usually more comfortable than manual extraction. Finally, hydrating serums with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and antioxidants are pushed into the skin.
Because the steps are controlled by the device and the solutions are mild, there is usually no redness or peeling afterwards. Skin looks clearer, plumper and smoother the same day, which makes it popular before weddings and events. Serums can be chosen for brightening, oil control or extra hydration, depending on your skin. Most people can go straight back to work or out for the evening after a session.
One session gives an immediate refresh that lasts for a week or so. For ongoing improvement in pores, texture and tone, a monthly HydraFacial alongside a sensible home routine works best. It is not a substitute for medical treatment of acne, melasma or scars, but it can complement those treatments well. If you have a skin condition, Dr. Shilpa will tell you whether to treat that first or combine the two.
The procedure
What happens during the treatment?
- 1
Skin check
Your skin is assessed and the serums and steps are chosen to suit your skin type and concerns.
- 2
Cleanse and exfoliate
The handpiece cleanses and gently resurfaces the skin, then a mild acid solution is applied to loosen debris in pores.
- 3
Extraction
Vortex suction draws out blackheads, oil and impurities without squeezing. You feel a light pulling sensation.
- 4
Hydrate and protect
Hydrating and antioxidant serums are infused into the skin, followed by moisturiser and sunscreen. You can return to your day right away.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
If you want a quick, gentle facial that leaves skin cleaner and better hydrated with no downtime, many people find it worthwhile. It gives a visible freshness the same day. For deeper problems like acne scars or pigmentation, it works best as a support to medical treatment rather than on its own.
